A Project Inspired by Bernard Myers

Bernard Myers (1925–2007) was a British painter known for his quiet, simple still life. His words, “Beauty is found not in complexity, but in attention” became the foundation for our latest creative experiment.

We decided to explore how simple forms, color contrasts, and precise accents can convey depth and harmony. During our lessons, we tried different techniques: sketching, collage, and combining drawn and cut-out elements. First, we created patterns on sheets of paper, then cut out pieces to build our own compositions.

Each participant created a unique artwork – some depicted fruits or vegetables, others produced abstract shapes, and some came up with completely unexpected scenes.

We discovered that true beauty is not in complexity, but in careful observation – in noticing the smallest details and letting imagination shape the final work.
