Exploring Form Through Material: A Lesson on Stones.

In one of our lessons, we explored the shape and texture of river stones not only through traditional sketches but also through hands-on modeling. This approach allows students to gain a deeper understanding of volume, proportions, and the unique characteristics of objects, as well as to feel their weight and form.

Creating three-dimensional representations of stones helps students more accurately convey their properties in drawing, while developing spatial awareness and observational skills. This lesson combines analytical perception of form with creative expression, fostering the growth of both technical and artistic abilities.
